The EarthCraft House program has been recognized by the National Association of Home Builders for 2008 and 2009 as the leading green building program in the nation. The EarthCraft House program was specifically developed for the climate of the southeastern United States.

The EarthCraft House program is a voluntary building program designed to help builders build better houses. The EarthCraft House program focuses on applying the principles of building science, primarily the integrity of the building envelope and understanding the principals of water movement applicable to home construction.

EarthCraft Houses must be certified as meeting the EarthCraft House criteria. This is verified by an EarthCraft Technical Advisor. At Energy RaterCorp, our Home Energy Raters are also EarthCraft Technical Advisors.

So, what does an EarthCraft Technical Advisor do for you?

  • Provides third party verification to ensure that your house meets the EarthCraft House standard.
  • A design review of your site plan and house plans to assure that they will meet the EarthCraft House standard.
